A little about us

We are a Danish café that really loves all the good stuff. Good coffee. Good tea. Good food. Slow mornings. Long conversations. Cozy surroundings where you can relax when you need to. Our philosophy is quite simple – we only offer things we love ourselves. Everything we serve has to meet our standards before it makes it onto your plate or into your cup.

For our coffee, we work together with Caffenation, a coffee roaster from Antwerp. We share their passion for quality, curiosity, and attention to detail. If you drink an Espresso or an Americano at Hygge, you might notice that it doesn’t always taste exactly the same every few months — and that’s something we choose. We change these beans about once a month, selecting coffees from different origins, each with its own character and flavours. This way, there is always something new to discover. For our milk-based coffees, however, we take a different approach. The beans we use for these coffees only change twice a year, so you can always count on the same familiar taste.

For tea, we chose A.C. Perch’s, Scandinavia’s oldest tea shop, founded in 1835. They have been serving the Danish Royal Household for generations and were officially appointed Royal Purveyor to the Danish Court in 2002. We love that history, but what matters most to us is what’s in the cup: good tea, carefully selected and made with the same attention to quality we look for in everything we serve.

We care about the little things. The ingredients, how things are prepared, the atmosphere, and the people sitting around the table. We love what we do, and we hope that somewhere between your first sip and your last bite, you can feel that too.
